PPATK Freezes 733 Online Judi Accounts With A Balance Of IDR 850 Billion In 2022

JAKARTA - Head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) Ivan Yustiavandana said PPATK stopped transactions of 733 accounts which indicated holding online gambling transactions (judol) in 2022 with an account balance value of IDR 850 billion.

"Based on the accounts analyzed by PPATK, the circulation of money in online gambling players' accounts reached at least IDR 57 trillion in 2021 and increased to IDR 69 trillion in January-August 2022," Ivan said at the event. In the first semester of 2022, PPATK has stopped transactions of 421 accounts allegedly related to gambling activities, with a nominal account balance that was terminated reaching more than Rp730 billion.

Furthermore, in the second semester, PPATK stopped transactions in 312 accounts allegedly related to online gambling activities, with a total terminated account balance of Rp120 billion.

PPATK has also secured assets in the Robot Trading case, temporarily stopping account transactions with a total balance of IDR 745 billion.

The total transaction related to illegal investment for the 2022 period reached Rp35 trillion. Asset recovery in this case is quite significant where the court's decision to decide the assets were confiscated for the state," he said.

Ivan said the results of criminal acts that were placed or transferred through the financial services sector continued to increase.

Meanwhile, based on 2022 data, during the period 2016 to 2021, PPATK has made 297 analytic results involving 1,315 entities suspected of committing criminal acts with a value of Rp38 trillion.

PPATK also made 11 examination results involving 24 entities with a potential value of transactions related to criminal acts reaching Rp221 trillion.
