The Myth Of The Human Twins Who Make Crocodiles In Kolaka Caressed, Covered By Residents

JAKARTA - Strong myths in society are still believed. The proof is that the crocodile that appeared on the shoreline of Lamunre Village, Watubangga, Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) was even approached by residents.

There is no fear. The residents even approached the crocodile that was 'stranded' on the beach. Crocodiles are caressed, even sailed like pets.

To this day, news about the myth of the human twin is still circulating on social media. This crocodile appeared on Tuesday, February 16 at around 08.00 WIB.

Now the rescue workers who were dispatched from Kendari are already at the location of the crocodile, which is a mythical human twin. Citizens are being invited to communicate to confirm their placement.

"Local residents still believe in the myth of the human twin crocodile," said the Southeast Sulawesi BKSDA officer, Yuyun, to VOI, Thursday, February 18.

The appearance of the crocodile on the edge of the Lamunre beach was said to be the first time this happened. Usually, the news of the crocodile discovery comes from Bombana Regency.

BKSDA officers have warned residents to approach the crocodile because it is dangerous. However, a strong myth in the community prompted officers to simply pass by.

Because the residents were still busy coming to the crocodiles, the officers asked that the crocodiles' eyes be covered with cloth so they wouldn't go berserk. But again, this appeal did not work.

"People don't want to. Crocodiles should not be approached by humans, but this is a strong myth (on site), ”said the officer.
