VOI Wapimred Moksa Hutasoit Highlights KPK's Work, No Longer Law On Public Sympathy Since Firli's Case

JAKARTA - The current work of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has been highlighted by many parties, including the Deputy Editor-in-Chief (Wapimred) VOI, Moksa Hutasoit. He considered this institution no longer inviting public sympathy because of the case that ensnared Firli Bahuri. It is known that Firli Bahuri has now been temporarily dismissed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for being a suspect in alleged extortion or receiving gratuities from former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo. This case is being handled by Polda Metro Jaya. "When it was discovered that the KPK was not in a position to invite public sympathy," Moksa said when filling a discussion on the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) which was budgeted by the KPK at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 13. Moksa, who used to cover the anti-corruption commission for the Antasari Azhar leadership period, revealed that the credibility of this institution was very well maintained. In fact, he remembered that there was a security guard who had to be transferred because he was caught using office facilities for his personal needs. "“ Until like that, we laugh at it but we say that the KPK is sadistic. So in the sense that at that time (in the internal, red) the KPK could not move or play games, ” he said. "So, Moksa hopes that in the future this credibility can be grown again by the KPK in the future. “ This is above everything, ” he said. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, said that he still believes that many of his employees maintain their integrity. Moreover, if the law is changed and deemed to weaken this institution, Nawawi believes that when the credibility of each person can still be maintained, the anti-corruption commission can return to its former performance.
