Prabowo Says 76 Countries Have Provided Free Lunch For Students

Presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, reiterated his commitment to providing free lunch at schools, Islamic boarding schools, and nutrition assistance if elected as President of Indonesia 2024-2029.

According to him, it is time for Indonesia to follow the 76 countries that have implemented the policy.

This was conveyed by Prabowo in front of the Indonesian Forward Trade Volunteers (RAPIM) who declared their support for the Prabowo-Gibran pair at the Djakarta Theater, Jakarta, Friday, December 8, 2023.

"We must be brave now, intervene. For this reason, when Prabowo-Gibran receives a mandate from the people, of course with our team, brothers and sisters, we will carry out lunch and milk for all Indonesian children, including those still in the womb of their mothers," said Prabowo.

"He is nine months pregnant with his mother and mother, we must support him," he continued.

Prabowo admits that there are still pessimistic parties regarding the policy of lunch and improving nutrition.

However, he said, the United Nations (UN) had confirmed that the free lunch program was the most appropriate step to reduce poverty, eliminate malnutrition, and stunting.

"PBB said this is the most correct way to reduce poverty, eliminate malnutrition, stunting, and this will bring a nation to rise to become a strong nation," said Prabowo.

In fact, Prabowo continued, as many as 76 countries in the world have implemented the same policy. In addition, six other countries are also preparing similar programs.

"We have simulated with numbers, it turns out that 76 countries in the world have provided free lunch for their children," said Prabowo.

"A total of 76 countries and now if I'm not mistaken, there are an additional six other countries that are preparing. With Indonesia, it means seven countries. There have been 76 countries," he added.

Prabowo added that the free lunch policy and the increase in nutrition were prepared by him together with the Vice President Gibran Rakabuming and his team to prepare the younger generation of Indonesia.

With this policy, the Minister of Defense hopes that Indonesian children will grow up to be healthy, strong, and intelligent children.

This is expected to be an important capital for the development of the Indonesian nation in a more advanced direction.

"Indonesian children will grow up to be intelligent, strong citizens, able to work, can bring Indonesia to truly become a prosperous and strong country," concluded Prabowo.
