JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) forum has declared support for presidential and vice presidential candidates number two, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The volunteer who calls himself the Prabowo-Gibran Supporting PPP Forum was declared by the former Chairman of the Kabah Youth Force (AMK), Joko Purwanto in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Friday, December 8.

The volunteer consisted of a cadre of the United Development Party (PPP) who was not in line with the party's decision. Where the PPP led by Mardiono supports candidate pair number three, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

Chairman of the Prabowo-Gibran Supporting PPP Forum, Joko Purwanto, explained that this group of volunteers he declared had supported Prabowo since the 2009 election.

"Today we convey that the PPP Forum supporting Mr. Prabowo Subianto has existed since 2009, when Mr. Prabowo Subianto was a vice presidential candidate with Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri," Joko said at a press conference.

"We have always been loyal to support Mr. Prabowo Subianto when the United Development Party was not with Mr. Prabowo," he continued.

The former Ka'bah Party cadre believes that Prabowo and Gibran who are currently accompanying him will win the Presidential Election (Pilpres) in 2024.

"We believe and believe that Mr. Prabowo Subianto will truly be elected president of the Republic of Indonesia and vice president of the Republic of Indonesia Mas Gibran Rakabuming Raka," he said.

According to Joko, PPP should support Prabowo-Gibran in the upcoming presidential election. Because he said, Prabowo-Gibran's vision and mission is in line with the party's position in the middle, which is based on conservative moderate Islam.

"PPP should position itself as an Islamic party that is more moderately conservative, not in the right Islamic ranks or left Islamic ranks. It is better if PPP is in the middle, so it is not wrong if we have to support Mr. Prabowo and Mr. Gibran who have number two, as the number in the middle," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Ali Masykur Musa, said that his party appreciated the support of the PPP Forum. He considered that the support would increase the strength and potential for Prabowo-Gibran's victory in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

"Thank you for the name of TKN Prabowo- Gibran, presidential and vice-presidential candidates with serial number 02, thank you for your sincere support and full of commitment to win Prabowo and vice-presidential candidate Mas Gibran," said Ali Masykur.
