BANYUWANGI - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) DPP Kaesang Pangarep accompanied by PSI DPP Secretary General Raja Juli Antoni planted coral reef seedlings in Bangsring Underwater Banyuwangi, East Java.

"Earlier, we put 15 coral reef transplant tables in Bangsring Underwater. This is to preserve the environment at sea," said Kaesang as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 5.

Not only that, but his party also distributed 1,000 kerapu fish seeds at that location.

According to him, preserving marine ecosystems, especially coral reefs, is a must for the entire community, considering that coral reefs in the Bali Strait are only 17 percent.

"With us putting 15 coral reef transplant tables, the effect is not significant, but this is our first step to protect the marine ecosystem," said Kaesang.

Therefore, he added, his party will also do the same in other Indonesian seas.

"God willing, we will also do the same thing elsewhere," said the youngest son of President Joko Widodo.

After planting coral reef seeds and spreading 1,000 kerapu fish seeds, Kaesang took the time to have a dialogue with fishermen in Bangsring Village, Banyuwangi.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, Kaesang visited the Mamba'ul Khoiriyatil Islamic Boarding School in Kedungsuko, Ramguta, Bangsalsari, Bangsalsari, Jember Regency, East Java, to stay in touch with the caretakers of the cottage and their students.

In Jember Regency, Kaesang also visited the Al Qodiri 1 Jember Gebang Poreng Islamic Boarding School, Patrang District.

The plan is for Kaesang to continue his visit to a number of points in Surabaya on Wednesday (6/12).

Kaesang carried out a political campaign in East Java from 2 to 6 December 2023.

A number of areas visited include Lamongan, Tuban, Magetan, Madiun, Malang, Jember and Surabaya. The visit is expected to attract sympathy from the people of East Java.
