YOGYAKARTA Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) politician Ade Armando sparked controversy by offending dynastic politics in Yogyakarta. Check out Ade Armando's controversy in the following article.

Previously, Ade Armando criticized the student alliance in Yogyakarta for holding protests related to the politics of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) dynasty on November 29, 2023.

Through a video uploaded on social media, Ade Armando conveyed that what students in Yogyakarta had to fight first was Yogyakarta itself. Because it applies a dynastic system in determining its governor who does not go through general elections.

Later, Ade Armando deleted his upload because he was a polemic. Furthermore, through a video upload on TikTok, the former University of Indonesia lecturer apologized.

"Through this video, I would like to apologize profusely if my last video of dynastic politics had caused delays and noise, especially in the Special Region of Yogyakarta," said Ade Armando, quoted by VOI.

Originally, this was not the only time Ade Armando made a controversial statement. He has repeatedly made a scene, and even had to repeatedly face the police as a result of his actions.

1. Upload Anies Baswedan's meme with a jockey face

In early November 2019, member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Fahira Idris reported Ade Armando for uploading a photo of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan who had been edited to look like a Joker.

Ade was reported for alleged changes to the shape and or electronic information of Anies' photo, who at that time served as Governor of DKI Jakarta.

The report is registered in the report number LP/7057/XI/2019/PMJ/Dit. Reskrimsus, dated November 1, 2019.

In his report, Fahira attached a number of pieces of evidence, one of which was a screenshot of Ade Armando's Facebook account upload.

Ade Armando is suspected of Article 32 Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 48 paragraph 1 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE.

2. Call the call to prayer unscrupulous

Ade Armando's next controversy is to call the call to prayer unquenched. This was conveyed by Ade in mid-April 2018 through his Facebook account.

Because of his words, Ade was reported to the police. He was policed by a lawyer named Denny Andrian Kusdayat on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 on suspicion of blasphemy.

The report is registered in the report Number TBL/1995/IV/2018/PMJ/Dit. Reskrimsus dated April 11, 2018.

The reported case is the spread of hatred containing SARA and/or blasphemy of a religion Article 28 Paragraph 2 Jo Article 45 A Paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE and/or Article 156 a of the Criminal Code.

3. Call Allah not an Arab

In January 2017, Ade Armando uploaded a very controversial statement on Facebook social media. He called Allah not an Arab.

"God is not an Arab. Of course Allah is happy if the verses are read in Minang, Ambon, Chinese Hiphp, Blues style," wrote Ade Armando.

After making the post, Ade was reported to Polda Metro Jaya. Investigators had named Ade Armando as a suspect in alleged violations of the ITE Law.

4. Upload Rizieq Shihab's meme wearing Christmas costumes

This incident occurred in December 2017. Ade Armando uploaded a photo of the frontman of FPI, Rizieq Shihab and a number of scholars wearing Christmas costumes on Facebook.

For his actions, Ade Armando was reported by LBH Awakening Jawara and Lawyers to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters.

Ade was reported for the alleged criminal case of hate speech with ethnic, religious, racial, and intergroup (SARA) nuances.

The report against Ade Armando is registered in the report number LP/1448/XII/2017 Bareskrim. This LBH brought evidence in the form of a meme that allegedly insulted Rizieq Shihab.

Ade was deemed to have violated Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning information and electronic transactions after uploading a meme with a picture of Rizieq Shihab who had been edited wearing Santa Claus's hat that reads "Admend Christmas Parade 2512".
