Pneumonia Case In Jakarta, Muhadjir Effendy: Already Entering The Rainy Season, Hopefully It Will Help

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of Indonesia Muhadjir Effendy hopes that the rain can help suppress pneumonia cases in Jakarta. This was conveyed by Muhadjir following a report from the DKI Health Office regarding children infected with Mycoplasma pneumoniae, a pneumonia-causing bacteria. "Regarding that it is related to air, yes, there are actually indications that Jakarta's air is getting higher. But now it has entered the rainy season, hopefully it can help decrease," said Muhadjir after meeting the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi, Tuesday, December 5. Pneumonia is a health problem in the respiratory system. Pneumonia in children occurs when the child's lungs have inflammation or infection. This condition usually begins with infections in the upper respiratory tract, such as the nose and throat. The Pneumonia case is currently endemic in China. Reports of pneumonia cases in children are known after the polymerase chain reaction or PCR test. However, the Head of the Epidemiological Surveillance and Immunization Section of the DKI Jakarta Health Office, Ngabila Salama, the number of cases and the location of the distribution have not been conveyed in detail. Muhadjir added that currently his party is focusing on compensation for victims of acute kidney failure.

"This is already a process, the president has also agreed. It's only a matter of when we will follow up. From the ministry of finance, we have also agreed," said Muhadjir.
