Checking NTT Market Food Prices, Jokowi Is Happy That Chili And Onions Are Cheaper Than On The Island Of Java

NTT - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) checked the prices of basic necessities at Dangga Market, Nagekeo Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province today, Tuesday, December 5.

Jokowi said that a number of prices for basic commodities sold at the Dangga Market were relatively good compared to prices on the island of Java.

The head of state said that one of them was the price of chili which was still at a price of Rp. 50,000 per kilogram.

"I went to the Dangga Market in Nagekeo Regency to check it (food price), but I am happy that chilies in Java now cost IDR 80,000 to IDR 100,000, here it is only IDR 50,000," said Jokowi in a written statement from the Press Bureau of the Secretariat, Tuesday, December 5, confiscated by Antara.

In addition, Jokowi also said that the price of shallots sold in the market was also cheaper, namely in the range of IDR 15,000 per kilogram.

The production of chilies and shallots that are quite good in Nagekeo Regency is considered by the President as a factor that causes the selling price of the two staples to be affordable for local residents.

"The red onions are also in Java Rp. 24,000-Rp. 26,000, here Rp. 15,000 because in my opinion the production is good, shallots are planted here, cayenne pepper is also planted here, so the price is good," said Jokowi.

President Jokowi arrived at Dangga Market at around 10:00 WITA and was warmly welcomed by the people who had gathered around the market.

When entering the market area, Ndoto's strain, which is a traditional Nagekeo musical instrument, also accompanied the President's activities in the market.

In addition to checking the prices of basic necessities, the President also distributed a number of aids and basic necessities to the community and traders in the market.

The President also appears to be buying a number of products sold by traders at the Dangga Market, one of which is mango.

"This is buying mangoes. There are five mangoes to gather, I asked for only Rp. 40,000. Earlier you gave Rp. 200,000, "said Martina, a fruit and vegetable seller approached by the President.

Martina thanked President Jokowi for buying his merchandise which was a fortune for him.

"I thank the President because this day I did not expect the President to give me sustenance," he said.

Ernasiana, a tempe seller who was approached by the President, also shared that she was happy because the President bought five tempeh directly to her.

"Buy five, the other five thousand, we get Rp. 200,000. It's amazing, sir, we are happy with this," he said.

Also accompanying the President during his visit to the Dangga Market were the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi, Acting Governor of NTT Ayodhia Kalake, and Regent Nagekeo Johanes Don happened Do.
