Not Wanting 2019 To Repeat Itself, The DKI Health Office Asks The KPU To Ensure That 2024 Election Officers In Jakarta Are Registered By BPJS

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Office Ani Ruspitawati asked the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) to ensure that all members of the 2024 Election polling organizing group (KPPS) are registered with BPJS. This was revealed by Ani in the working meeting of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD which also presented the ranks of the KPU and the DKI Jakarta Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu). "We want to ensure that all KPPS members are registered as members of the BPJS or registered as JKN (national health insurance)," said Ani at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Monday, December 4. Perpastian KPPS terdaftar sebagai peserta BPJS ini diminta Ani untuk menghindari masalah yang pernah terjadi pada pemilu sebelumnya. Di mana, sebanyak 894 petugas pemilu umum meninggal dunia dan 5,175 petugas jatuh sakit selama penyelenggaraan Pemilu Simultaneous 2019. Hundreds of election officers died and thousands of others were sick in 2019 and then occurred due to the heavy workload of the election at that time because the presidential and legislative elections were held simultaneously. "It will be very easy when there are conditions that require health services," explained Ani. It is estimated that the KPU will recruit around 210 thousand KPPS officers who work at polling stations (TPS) in the DKI Jakarta area on voting day. For health screening, the DKI Provincial Government plans to conduct a medical check-up (MCU) for KPPS members. "The MCU that we have prepared comprehensively for examinations related to blood pressure, laboratories have blood sugar tests, cholesterol," said Ani. "Then in general, there will be a screening of non-communicable diseases for us to confirm whether each member of the KPPS has a history of comorbidities," he continued.

On that basis, Ani asked the KPU to send a letter requesting MCU facilities to the DKI Provincial Government to be stated in the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Instruction regarding its implementation.
