JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Edward Omar Syarif Hiariej or Eddy Hiariej is still being investigated by investigators at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. The investigation was carried out regarding the alleged bribery and gratuities that ensnared him. Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Eddy had complied with the investigator's summons. He was examined as a witness. "The witness was present at the KPK's Red and White Building," Ali told reporters, Monday, December 4. Ali said investigators were still asking for Eddy's statement. It has not been detailed what material will be investigated from the examination. " “ Currently, the KPK investigating team is still investigating," he said. Eddy came to the KPK's Red and White Building at 09.40 WIB. He made no statement because he chose to rush into the lobby. "“Later, yes,”" he told reporters when asked about his presence. Previously reported, Eddy was named a suspect along with three other people. He is suspected of receiving gratuities and bribes. The KPK revealed that the form of gratification was allegedly in the form of receiving a sum of money related to the consultation and assistance for the ratification of a company's legal entity. The determination of the suspect based on an investigation warrant (sprindik) has been signed since two weeks ago. The anti-corruption commission has also sent a letter to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the determination of Eddy Hiariej as a suspect. The letter was received by the Ministry of State Secretariat (Setneg) on Friday, December 1.

To investigate this case, the KPK has also asked the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to prevent four people from leaving the country. Apart from Eddy, those prevented were Yosi Andika Mulyadi and Yogi Arie Rukmana who were his personal assistants. Meanwhile, one private party is the President Director of PT Citra Lampia Mandiri Helmut Hermawan.
