JAKARTA - The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), on Saturday submitted the results of an initial investigation into the alleged leakage of the 2024 general election voter list data (DPT) to the Directorate of Cyber Crime of the National Police and the General Elections Commission.

"Regarding the alleged KPU data leak incident, we conveyed that on Saturday, at 11.00 WIB, BSSN had submitted an initial digital investigation and forensic report to the Directorate of Cyber Crime of the Police and the KPU," said BSSN spokesman Ariandi Putra in a press release, Saturday.

Ariandi explained that in the report, BSSN conducted digital analysis and forensics in terms of applications and servers to identify the main cause of the alleged incident that occurred.

The Directorate of Cyber Crime of the National Police, he said, would follow up on the report in terms of law enforcement and the KPU as the organizer of the electronic system in accordance with their respective authorities.

Ariandi emphasized BSSN's commitment to continue to synergize and collaborate with the KPU and the police in cybersecurity efforts ahead of the 2024 General Election.

The alleged leak of voter data at the KPU occurred after an anonymous hacker named "Jimbo" claimed to have hacked the KPU website and accessed voter data from the site.
