The General Elections Commission (KPU) has ensured that the debate between the presidential and vice presidential candidates in a new format will not violate the laws and regulations related to the 2024 presidential election.
This was conveyed by RI KPU member Idham Holik in response to the polemic of the new format of the presidential and vice presidential candidates debate. This time there was no special debate about the vice presidential candidate separately because the couple would come together.
"This does not violate election laws," said Idham when confirmed, Saturday, December 2.
Idham said the candidate pair would still have the opportunity to express their opinion. The presidential candidate will be held three times while the vice presidential candidate twice.
"In every debate, the plan is to be accompanied by their respective partners. For example, during the presidential candidate debate, the main actor is the presidential candidate himself in conveying the deepening of material, vision and mission, as well as the nomination program," explained Idham.
"In this debate the vice presidential candidate only accompanies it," he continued.
