The Bogor City Government, West Java has prepared the launch of two traditional markets that were converted into modern markets at the end of December as a sign of the start of the demolition of Plaza Bogor into a new economic area in the city center.

Director of Perumda Pasar Pakuan Jaya (Perumda PJJ) Muzakkir said the launch of two traditional markets that experienced revitalization, namely the Sukasari market and Jambu Dua Market, will be held in December 2023 and January 2024.

Along with preparations for the launch of the two markets, said Muzakkir, Perumda PJJ will begin the revitalization stage of the Plaza Bogor area, namely demolition.

"By the end of this year the Jambu Dua market, February 2024, Sukasari market. It was attempted this December that the demolition of Plaza Bogor began," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, December 2.

Muzakkir explained that Bogor City experienced a number of market revitalizations and that the construction of new markets in the region was a map of equitable economic activity for residents not to accumulate into the city center.

The Bogor City Government has made a new regional development design and city center face to provide economic equality and beautify the city center again and air quality.

"So we, who manage the market, are responsible for carrying out development tasks and revitalizing traditional markets, becoming cleaner, more modern," he said.

Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan together with Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto recently inaugurated two traditional markets in two sub-districts. Namely Tanah Baru Market, North Bogor District and also Pamoyanan Market in South Bogor District.

Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Dedie Abdul Rachim, immediately checked at Pamoyanan Market, Friday (1/12/) afternoon. Apart from interacting with Dedie traders, he also saw a market building that was considered quite good as a traditional market.

At Pamoyanan Market, there are 36 stalls and 9 stalls and 5 shophouses prepared for traders. The people's market that was built is in a concept like a modern market. So it is more comfortable and clean.

"We hope that with the opening of these two markets, public access to buy basic daily needs can be easier. Commodities sold can also support the needs of real people," said Dedie after the visit.

In addition to these two markets, continued Dedie, in the future there will be several new markets that can get closer to community settlements. So that people do not only rely on markets in the city center.

"God willing, next year people can enjoy a market that has just been revitalized. Such as Jambu Dua, Sukasari and Cumpok and Merdeka markets. The goal is earlier, so that the distribution of logistics is not centered at one point only," he explained.
