Bogor City Government Prepares Temporary Residential Residential Disaster Victims

BOGOR - The City Government (Pemkot) of Bogor, West Java, has prepared temporary housing assistance (huntara) using the Unexpected Cost Fund (BTT) for disaster victims due to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in the last two weeks.

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bogor City, Syarifah Sofiah, said that the shelter assistance for landslide victims was being collected data on BPBD and the Housing and Settlement Service (Disperumkim).

Syarifah conveyed the results of a check in Cibogor Village, Central Bogor District, and Menteng Village, West Bogor District, on Friday (1/12) there were residents affected by the landslide a few days ago who received shelter assistance.

"In Cibogor, we have given a shelter for the affected houses below, while we are conducting an assessment by one house beside them. If it is dangerous, we will give a shelter for them to rent a house," said Syarifah as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, December 2.

He explained that the landslide caused by heavy rains did not take any lives, but the houses of residents affected by the landslide were damaged.

The landslide that occurred in Menteng Village was caused by a lump going down the channel and making a closed channel. Currently, cleaning has been carried out from BPBD, Disperumkim and residents manually. He has also asked the PUPR Service to lend Jack Hammer and PUPR personnel to help.

"The house affected by the landslide has no kitchen and bathroom, it must be completed as soon as possible, so that if it rains heavily, the house will not be affected," said Syarifah.

Syarifah explained that the shelter assistance in the form of giving money to rent this house was given on average for three months. After three months if the house cannot be occupied, residents will be transferred to the flats. The regional secretary stated that the huntara funds were taken from the BTT budget in BPBD.

In principle, continued Syarifah, the BTT Fund for emergency response can be disbursed quickly. Not only that, but the BTT budget must also be completed by the end of the year.

"So now there is only one month left, we have to see what work can be completed by the end of December. If conditions like this, in January it can be done again with BTT, the budget will be moved to the Disperumkim first," he said.
