TANJUNG SELOR - Chairman of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of North Kalimantan Province (Kaltara) Albertus Stefanus Marianus Baya led a plenary meeting with the agenda of taking the oath of office of an Interim DPRD member (PAW) for the remaining 2019-2024 term.
This plenary meeting was attended by Deputy Governor of Kaltara Yansen TP, Deputy Chief of Police of Kaltara Brigadier General Kasmudi and a number of other officials.
This PAW oath-taking was carried out against a member of the PDI-P faction, Norhayati Andris, to Muhammad Yusuf Ramlan from the electoral district (dapil) of Tarakan City.
Albertus reminded Yusuf Ramlan to immediately adjust in carrying out his duties as a member and maintain the good image of the Kaltara DPRD in the remaining 2019-2024 term.
"The PAW process has gone through stages or according to the mechanism and applicable provisions," said Albertus.
Previously, Albertus continued, the leadership of the North Kalimantan DPRD had received a Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs dated November 22, 2023 regarding the inauguration of the dismissal of members of the Kaltara DPRD on behalf of Norhayati Andris from his position as members of the North Kalimantan DPRD for the 2019-2024 term.
"The Minister of Home Affairs' decree also states that the appointment of Inter-Time Substitutes for Kaltara DPRD members on behalf of Muhammad Yusuf Ramlan as PAW is counted from the date of the oath of promise," he explained.
Albertus, who is also the chairman of the PDI-P DPD, emphasized that the PDI-P faction has agreed to replace Norhayati because he has run for legislative candidate (Caleg) from another party.
"The PDIP faction has also received a letter of resignation from the party automatically, no longer a PDIP cadre," he said.
Previously, there were two vacant DPRD members besides Norhayati Andris (PDIP), his party would also carry out the PAW process for DPRD members from the National Mandate Party (PAN) who were caught in a corruption case.
"Pak Arief's PAW from PAN is still waiting for a decree from the Ministry of Home Affairs," he explained.
Meanwhile Muhammad Yusuf Ramlan said that he immediately adjusted to other members of the North Kalimantan DPRD and improved the good image of the DPRD which had been built so far.
"I am still waiting for the mandate from the PDIP faction to serve in what commission, in the remaining 8 months of work I will work optimally," he concluded.
