Daop 8 Surabaya Adds Operation 6 Trains Ahead Of Christmas-New Year

PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya increased the operation of six long-distance trains during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year Transport periods which can be ordered starting November 29, 2023 at 00.00 WIB. KAI Daop 8 Surabaya Public Relations Manager, Luqman Arif said the total added was 63,720 long-distance train seats. The additional trains, he continued, are available for favorite destination trips such as Yogyakarta, Bandung, Jakarta, and others, so that a total of 50 train trips depart from the KAI Daop 8 Surabaya area. "KAI added several trips on various routes and classes to accommodate public interest in using trains at Christmas and New Year's moments," said Luqman in a written statement received in Surabaya, Antara, Thursday, November 30. Luqman explained that the presence of the additional train shows his party's readiness to provide transportation facilities for customers who want to travel during Christmas and New Year. "In addition, this is a form of KAI's commitment to serve the community as well as possible," he said. As for the list of additional trains for the Christmas and New Year periods, he said, among others, Additional Sembrani trains for Gambir destinations, departures at 05.45 WIB and Kertajaya Trains Additional destinations for Pasarsenen, departures at 20.40 WIB, with departures from Pasarturi Station. "Departure from Surabaya Gubeng Station, there is an Additional Sgu-Kac train for Kiaracondong, departure at 07.35 WIB and an Additional Sancaka train for Yogyakarta, departure at 22.00 WIB," he said. Meanwhile, for departures from Malang Station, namely, Gajayana Train Additional to Gambir destination, departure at 18.10 WIB and Malioboro Express train to Purwokerto, departure at 21.10 WIB. Luqman added, on Thursday, November 30, 2023, his party recorded that 82,566 long-distance train tickets had been sold or 18 percent of the tickets provided were 455,382 tickets, for the period 21 December 2023 to 7 January 2024. "This number will continue to increase because sales are still ongoing. People can immediately book tickets because the Nataru River train tickets are still quite widely available," he said.

"KA has become a favorite for Nataru Transportation so far including the Probowangi train for the Surabaya Gubeng - Ketapang connection, the Malabar train for the Malang - Bandung connection, the Jayabaya train for the Malang - Surabaya - Pasarsenen connection, and others," he added.
