5 Jakarta Area Will Be Heavy Rain, DKI BPBD Issues Flood And Landslide Alert

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) issued an early warning of moderate to heavy rain in five regions of DKI Jakarta Province, Wednesday morning at around 02.40 WIB to 05.40 WIB.

Launching Antara, Wednesday, February 17, the BPBD DKI social media page stated that the potential for moderate to heavy rain this Wednesday morning will occur in West Jakarta, North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta and the Thousand Islands Regency.

For West Jakarta, this rain is expected to flush Tambora, Grogol Petamburan, Taman Sari, Cengkareng, Kebon Jeruk, Kalideres, Pal Merah and Kembangan Districts.

For North Jakarta, rain is expected to fall in Tanjung Priok, Penjaringan and Pademangan Districts. Meanwhile, in South Jakarta, rain is predicted to occur in Kebayoran Lama and Pesanggrahan Districts.

For Central Jakarta, the rain is predicted to fall in the districts of Sawah Besar, Kemayoran, Gambir, Senen, Menteng and Tanah Abang. Meanwhile, the Seribu Islands Regency will experience this rain in the North Seribu Islands and South Seribu Islands Districts.

As for East Jakarta, it is predicted that it will not experience moderate to heavy rain this morning.

DKI BPBD also issued a warning to the relevant Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD), sub-district heads, village heads in areas prone to flooding or landslides to take anticipatory steps by alerting Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Workers (PPSU) and Flood Task Force or Outdoor Cleaning Officer (PKLG).
