JAKARTA - Constitutional Justices elected by Arsul Sani assessed that there was a 'voltage' faced by political elites in facing the 2024 General Election. According to him, this is clearly different from the previous two elections.

Arsul said the difference in the moment of the democratic party was based on the number of candidate pairs (paslon) for presidential and vice-presidential candidates who ran in the 2024 presidential election.

"Our democratic face for the 2024 presidential election tends to be different from the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections when only two candidate pairs @jokowi vs. @prabowo," wrote Arsul in his X social media account, Wednesday, November 29.

Arsul said the tension was clearly faced by political elites and certain civil society at this time.

"If in the previous two presidential elections that looked more "strengthened" were grassroots, but towards the 2024 presidential election, the expression of tension was more clearly seen in certain political elites and civil society," he said.

However, this PPP politician cannot further assess whether the difference in the current and previous presidential elections is good.

"Then, better or worse for Indonesia's future? Of course it's not easy to answer," he said.

As is known, in the 2024 presidential election there are three candidate pairs. They have received the serial numbers of presidential and vice presidential candidates participating in the 2024 presidential election conducted by the KPU on the evening of November 14.
