JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to inaugurate the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday 29 November. This was confirmed by the Chairman of Commission I of the DPR, Meutya Hafid. "Yes, God willing, afternoon," said Meutya via a short message on Tuesday, November 28 evening. Meutya invited the public to wait for President Jokowi's official announcement regarding the figure who would occupy the position of Kasad. Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Pangkostrad) Lieutenant General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, became a strong candidate filling the position left by General TNI Agus Subiyanto. President Jokowi has also confirmed Maruli Simanjuntak who is also the son-in-law of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan as one of the candidates for the position of KSAD.
