SYL's Response When Hearing Firli Bahuri Becomes A Suspect In Extortion

The inactive chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri, has been named a suspect in the alleged extortion case. Former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, is said to have not given excessive response when he heard the information.

"He's normal," said Syahrul Yasin Limpo's lawyer, Jamaluddin Koedoeboen, to VOI, Tuesday, November 28.

Although he did not respond much, Syahrul Yasin Limpo is said to be still monitoring the progress of handling the case handled by the Polda Metro Jaya.

In fact, the former Minister of Agriculture will continue to be cooperative in supporting the investigation process ready or willing at any time to provide what investigators need.

"So this is just waiting to see how far this process goes and as a good citizen, of course, he will follow all these stages," he said.

Syahrul Yasin Limpo was originally scheduled to undergo an additional examination on Wednesday, November 29. The process of taking the information took place at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"He was examined at 2 pm, at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters," said Jamaluddin.

The examination of Syahrul Yasin Limpo is an addition from before. The former Minister of Agriculture will take his statement with the capacity as a witness.

"An additional examination is related to allegations of corruption, in the form of extortion or receipt of gratuities by the FB," said Jamaluddin.

In the case of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities, Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22.

Several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there were also the results of the extraction of 21 cellphones.

Firli was charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
