The Reason Why Ganjar Chooses Sabang-Merauke To Be The Location Of The First Campaign: A Symbol Of Unity

YOGYAKARTA Candidate pairs and vice presidential candidates number three Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD started their campaign period in different locations. On the first day of the campaign, Ganjar worked on a safari in Merauke, Papua as the easternmost province in Indonesia. Meanwhile Mahfud campaigned in Sabang, Aceh. So, what is the reason why Ganjar chose Sabang-Merauke to be the location of the first campaign?

Ganjar Pranowo revealed the reason for choosing Sabang and Merauke as the first locations.

Ganjar said, the meaning of choosing two places at the western and eastern ends of Indonesia is to show the unity of Indonesia, as stated in the third precept of Pancasila.

The former Governor of Central Java hopes that these two points can be the beginning to win in the 2024 presidential election.

"We deliberately chose 2 points in Indonesia, one at the east end where the sun was scattered, one at the west end, because we want Indonesian unity to be like the 3rd sola," said Ganjar in Waninggap Nanggo Village, Semangga District, Merauke, South Papua, Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

Ganjar then explained the reason for having a village as the first location of the campaign. According to him, the village is a gathering place for people.

"Why did we choose the village? Because actually this is where our society gathers a lot," explained Ganjar.

Furthermore, Ganjar told about the trip to Waninggap Nanggo Village, road infrastructure did not match the expectations of residents.

He thanked the tribal chief who reminded himself so that road construction in his place could be a priority.

"The tribal chief told me, welcome to the way is very good. A very polite, very good statement, and we don't need to answer. But we went that way and we felt that," said Ganjar.

Ganjar Pranowo Promotes One Village One Health Center Program

Quoting Antara, when campaigning in Waninggap Nango Village, Ganjar Pranowo reiterated the work program plan for one village, one health center.

"Health facilities are important, one village has at least one auxiliary health center. One package of health facilities, one doctor is grateful, so it will be able to solve transportation and connectivity problems that can make it easier for residents to seek treatment," said Ganjar.

This statement was made by Ganjar after listening to the difficulties of the people in RT03 Kondo Village, Merauke Regency, precisely in Korkari Hamlet which is directly adjacent to the Papua New Guinea country.

According to the local youth leader, Pastor Leonard Batfeny, that pregnant women had difficulty giving birth in their environment because there were no health facilities, at least in the form of auxiliary health centers.

"What is needed is a health house. We will not promise and will not promise, but believe me we will communicate so that later there will be good hands with the value of mutual cooperation which hopefully can help open the auxiliary health center in Korkari Hamlet," said Ganjar.

Ganjar also made Pastor Leonard's story an important note for the government in the future, how to act quickly to overcome the difficulties of society in the midst of its limitations.

"Pendet Leonard helped the delivery process with knowledge that he only studied through Youtube, of course this is a note for us that the government must be present to overcome community problems," said Ganjar.

To prove his commitment, Ganjar also handed over two medical devices to the Indigenous Chair in the form of a first aid box and a blood pressure measuring device as a symbol.
