GAZA - Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) on Saturday said 61 food aid trucks had been delivered to the northern region of the Gaza Strip.

The shipment has been the most significant attempt since the war between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas erupted on October 7, 2023.

The United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), the World Health Organization (WHO), and volunteers from the Palestinian aid organization will distribute the food aid, said PRCS media chief Raed al-Nems.

The total aid that had crossed the Rafah border crossing gate to the Gaza Strip on Saturday reached around 200 trucks, carrying fuel and LPG gas, he said.

Israel and Hamas agreed to conduct a four-day humanitarian hiatus starting on Friday (24/11).

On that day, Hamas also exchanged 24 Israelis and foreigners held hostage with 39 Palestinians detained in Israeli prisons.

According to the agreement, the hostages will be released in stages for four days.

The Israeli military said its forces would continue the attack on the Gaza Strip after the humanitarian break ends.

Israel launched a massive attack on the Gaza Strip after Hamas infiltrated Israel and carried out an attack there on October 7, 2023.

Israel also blocked the densely populated Palestinian enclave by cutting off its water, electricity, and food and fuel supplies.

The war has killed at least 14,854 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and more than 4,000 women, according to Gaza's health authorities.

Meanwhile, Israel reported that the death toll on its side reached around 1,200 people.
