Depok Mayor: There Is No Reason Indonesia Does Not Defend Palestine

JAKARTA - Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris emphasized that there is no reason for the Indonesian people not to defend Palestine for independence.

"Ladies and gentlemen, there is no reason for Indonesians and for Indonesians, anyone not to defend Palestine for independence," Mohammad Idris said in his speech during the "Depok Damai Action with Palestine" at Grand Depok City (GDC), quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 26.

Idris emphasized that our Constitution has mandated that all invaders, on this earth must be destroyed, and is very contrary to Pancasila, Pancasila, we say that humanity is just and civilized.

The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Depok City is ready to hold a peaceful demonstration "Depok with Palestine".

This action was attended by thousands of Depok residents who packed Jalan GDC Depok. The attributes of the Palestinian flag from small to large were seen in the action.

In addition, there are also attributes to Palestinian scarfs, turbans, hats and others enlivening the peaceful action.

"This humanitarian action is an effort to provide support to Gazans, especially those who are suffering from the military aggression carried out by Israel," said Secretary of the Depok MUI Khaerullah Ahyari.

He said that this humanitarian action was supported by the Depok City National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas), the Depok Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) and the Depok City Government (Pemkot), as well as community institutions and organizations.
