KPK Has Not Received Presidential Decree On Temporary Dismissal Of Firli Signed By Jokowi

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Johanis Tanak said that he only found out that Firli Bahuri was disabled as Chairman of the KPK from the news.

The Presidential Decree (Keppres) signed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Friday night, November 24, has not been received.

"Well, we have not received (the Presidential Decree) ourselves dismissal (Firli Bahuri, ed), we have just received information from media friends," Johanis told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Saturday morning, November 25.

Johanis hopes that Firli's dismissal of Presidential Decree will be received soon. Likewise with the decree to appoint KPK Deputy Chair Nawawi Pomolango as Acting Chairman of the KPK.

It is known that Nawawi was chosen to be the executor of the task after Firli was disabled because he was a suspect in the alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities from former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. This case is being investigated by the Polda Metro Jaya.

"Hopefully on Monday we have received a decree to dismiss Mr. Firli as a temporary dismissal as chairman and we also hope that Pak Nawawi's temporary appointment decision letter as chairman will be obtained soon," he said.

As previously reported, President Jokowi has signed Presidential Decree for the dismissal of Firli and the appointment of Nawawi as Acting Chairman of the KPK. The signing was carried out upon his arrival from a working visit to West Kalimantan.

"The Presidential Decree was signed by President Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Thursday, November 24, 2023 upon arrival from a working visit," said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana to reporters, Thursday night.

This process was carried out after Polda Metro Jaya finished carrying out a case of alleged extortion or receiving gratuities from former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Firli was finally named a suspect.

Some of the evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect was witness testimony and electronic evidence. The police have examined 91 people in this case.

They include Syahrul Yasin Limpo, former aide to Firli Bahuri, Kevin Egananta. Then there is the Semarang Police Chief Kombes Pol Irwan Anwar, Director of Dumas KPK Tomi Murtomo, as well as two former KPK leaders Saut Situmorang and M Jasin.

Meanwhile, there are about 8 experts consisting of criminal law experts, micro expressions, and procedural law.
