Humanitarian Pause, Israel Warns Gazans Not To Move To The North

JAKARTA - The Israeli army warned Palestinians not to move to the Gazautara Strip during the humanitarian break that took effect Friday, November 24, local time.

According to Anadolu reporters on the ground, Israeli soldiers dropped leaflets in Gazaselatan, including in Rafah City, which contained orders for Palestinians not to move north.

"For the citizens of the Gaza Strip, the war is not over yet, the humanitarian pause is temporary, and Gazautara is a war zone," the Israeli army wrote in the leaflet.

Israel only allows the movement of residents from north to south of Gaza via Jalan Salahuddin in the eastern part of the enclave.

Back north is a forbidden and dangerous thing, your fate and the fate of your family are in your hands," Israel warned.

Meanwhile, thousands of Palestinians displaced by weeks of Israeli attacks in Gaza are taking advantage of the humanitarian break to return to their homes and search for their separate family members during the conflict.

According to reporter Anadolu, many residents left schools, which functioned as shelters, to check their homes.

During more than a month of conflict, many Palestinians in Gaza lost contact with their family members due to the interruption of communication networks and difficulty in mobility.

Palestinians in the Gazautara Strip, including the City ofGaza, have also checked their homes, but will not be able to return to their homes during the humanitarian break, which includes the exchange of hostages and aid deliveries to the region.

Hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza fled to the south due to intensive attacks and Israeli ground operations in the northern Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.

A four-day humanitarian break between the Israeli army and the Palestinian resistance groupHamas came into effect on Friday at 07.00 a.m (12 p.m. local time) throughout Gaza.
