Jokowi: Choose Anies, Prabowo, Ganjar Please, The Important Thing Is To Be Careful In Choosing Leaders

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo invites the people to elect presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election, both Anies Baswedan, Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto.

This was conveyed by the President when delivering his remarks at the Opening of the XXXII Islamic Student Association (HMI) Congress and the 2023 HMI-Wati Corps (Kohati) National Conference, in West Kalimantan.

"If you want to choose Mr. Anies, go ahead. Want to choose Mr. Prabowo, go ahead. Want to choose Mr. Ganjar, go ahead," said President Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 24.

The President reminded the public to be careful in choosing leaders, so that the progress that exists and has been achieved does not become in vain.

"Don't let the existing progress that has been built become in vain because of the split, because of our mistake in choosing a leader so that I often talk back and forth carefully choosing a leader," said Jokowi.

The President conveyed that sovereignty is in the hands of the people. Whoever wins the presidential election, said the President, it is the will of Allah SWT and the will of the people.

"But we leave everything to the people because those who have sovereignty are the people. Whoever you are and you choose, (the winner) is indeed the will, first is God's will, the second is indeed the will of the people," he explained.

Jokowi said all the results would be determined in the direct election by the people on February 14, 2024.

Jokowi also hopes that HMI can always actively oversee the journey of Indonesian history to maintain the unity and peace of the nation towards an advanced Indonesia that is aspired to.

"Be sure the business arrives," he said.
