South Aceh Regency Government Deploys Heavy Equipment To Clean Bandang Flood Materials

The South Aceh Regency Government (Pemkab) deployed 10 heavy equipment to accelerate the handling and recovery process after the flash flood in Ladang Rimba.

Acting South Aceh Regent Cut Syazalisma said the local government had also established a disaster emergency status and was likely to be extended by looking at the conditions on the ground.

"For the handling of this flash flood, the local government deployed 10 units of heavy equipment. The use of this heavy equipment as soon as possible to restore conditions," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 24.

Previously, flash floods hit the Ladang Rimba area, Central Trumon District, South Aceh Regency, on Monday (20/11) night.

The flash flood carried wood such as tree trunks mixed with mud which caused residents' houses and public facilities to be heavily damaged. Flash flood materials also cover the road.

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Aceh Regency stated that 2,432 residents were affected by flash floods. Meanwhile, 256 people fled. They took refuge in the shelters provided, at the Brimob Company headquarters and relatives' houses.

BPBD South Aceh Regency has carried out emergency handling. Local governments will also mobilize all resources for maximum handling.

"This disaster requires the attention of all parties. We also ask all relevant agencies to maximize disaster management. Increase coordination and distribute aid on target. Immediately respond to complaints from flood victims," said Cut Syazalisma.
