OTT In East Kalimantan, KPK Secures 11 People And Amount Of Money

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK task force team held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in East Kalimantan (Kaltim), Thursday, November 23. From the OTT, the KPK has so far arrested 11 people. "There are 11 people that we have arrested," said the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, Friday, November 24. Ghufron has not officially disclosed the identities of the parties caught by OTT. They are suspected of being involved in corruption related to the project for the procurement of goods and services in the area. Ghufron said, until now the parties who were arrested from the OTT are still being investigated by the KPK team. He ensured that developments from OTT this time will continue to be conveyed. "The KPK team secured a number of money, other evidence," said Ghufron. Ghufron confirmed that this time OTT was carried out in the midst of a polemic that occurred within the KPK, namely the appointment of the KPK Chairman, Firli Bahuri as a suspect in the alleged extortion. This OTT he considers to show the KPK continues to work in the midst of the chaos that occurred.

"This arrest activity is carried out in the midst of the bustle of events that occurred at the KPK. This shows that KPK personnel are still working and the KPK is still at the forefront of eradicating corruption as usual and is not disturbed by the frenzy that occurred at the KPK," said Ghufron. The anti-corruption agency has 1 x 24 hours to check and determine the legal status of the parties caught by OTT. Their status will be submitted to the public through a press conference.
