JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy held a Financial Plan (Renaku) II meeting in Marine District Hartono, Cilandak, Jakarta, discussing budget allocations for priority programs, including improving the professionalism of soldiers, the welfare of soldiers, and the main equipment of the weapon system (alutsista).
The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral Muhammad Ali, who chaired the meeting, explained that the meeting explored the budget absorption strategy to be right on target.
"For the programs, we only continue the previously planned programs and we just have to run them. So, Renaku II just confirmed again whether the budget is right and which is more priority. That is the priority," said Admiral Ali as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 21.
Regarding the budget allocation for Indonesian Navy programs, Ali said this tends to be balanced, for example 30 percent for increasing the professionalism of soldiers, 30 percent for the defense equipment budget, and 30 percent for the welfare of soldiers.
"The rest, what is a priority, we adjust it to the challenges that suddenly appear. Later we also have to prepare reserves," said Ali.
Regarding defense equipment, Ali explained that the budget and plan for the Indonesian Navy program were directed to complement warships (KRI), marine combat vehicles, and unmanned systems, as well as build and renovate supporting facilities, such as offices and new bases.
"We are also renovating facilities, facilities, infrastructure," said Ali.
