Gerindra's Explanation Of Prabowo's Recognition Of Jokowi's Support

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Habiburrokhman, explained the confession of Presidential Candidate number two, Prabowo Subianto, who received support from President Joko Widodo. In fact, Prabowo is also supported by the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

According to him, Prabowo's words are reasonable. This is because President Jokowi does support all vice presidential candidates who run in the 2024 presidential election.

"What I heard and I read, Mr. Prabowo said he had the support of the 6th president and the 7th president was next to me, more or less the editorial. Yes, it is natural that Mr. Jokowi yesterday had gathered the presidential candidates and stated that he supports all of these presidential and vice-presidential candidates, including Mr. Prabowo," said Habiburokhman at the DPR building, Tuesday, November 21.

Habiburokhman assessed that the support of President Jokowi and SBY increased the spirit of the National Campaign Team (TKN) to win the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair.

"So of course it adds to our enthusiasm, yes, that we are not only supported by the 6th president of SBY, but Pak Jokowi also supports all current contestants," he said.

"What does this mean? This election process can run smoothly, maximally, peacefully, with determination, namely to produce the nation's best son as our leader in the future," continued the Deputy Commander of Law and Advocacy for the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN).

The deputy chairman of Commission III of the DPR is not worried if it is said that Jokowi is taking sides with candidate pair number two, Prabowo-Gibran. Because, he said, the diction 'is next to me' indicating that the president supports all existing candidates.

"You pay attention to what I just said, being next to me means it's on the side of all national figures, the name is the president. If there are supervisors who don't side with the matter, there is Bawaslu. There are various institutions including our friends in this mass media," concluded Habiburokhman.

Previously, Prabowo Subianto bluntly admitted that he was supported by President Jokowi in facing the 2024 presidential election contestation. Prabowo said Jokowi was always next to him.

"I feel very respected and with Pak SBY's willingness to go down the mountain. The 6th President supports and is next to me, with the 7th President also supporting to be next to me," Prabowo said at a consolidation event to win the Democratic Party at the Aston Madiun Hotel, East Java, Monday, November 20.
