Today, Heru Budi Will Announce DKI Jakarta UMP

JAKARTA - The amount of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) in 2024 which refers to Government Regulation (PP) 51/2023 concerning Wages has been announced today, Tuesday, November 21.

"Yes, there was a meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Manpower, referring to PP 51/2023. Yes, no later than tomorrow (today) the 21st will be announced," said Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, on Monday 20 November.

Heru explained that currently the recommendation of the UMP has been received by the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Service (Disnakertransgi).

"Still in the hands of the assistant, he is in the initial stage. No later than Tuesday, November 21", said Heru.

The Wage Council session which discussed the recommendations for the amount of the DKI Jakarta UMP 2024 on Friday (17/11/2023) resulted in three proposals from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov), employers, and workers.

In determining the minimum wage, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government refers to Government Regulation (PP) 51/2023 concerning Wages, which replaces PP Number 36 of 2021.

In the PP, the formula for increasing the minimum wage has been determined with the value of adjusting the minimum wage as a result of economic growth x alpha x the minimum wage running. This formula applies to the UMP which has exceeded the upper limit.

Meanwhile, for the minimum wage that has not exceeded the upper limit or is below the limit, the minimum wage adjustment formula is used which includes inflation (economic growth x alpha) and the minimum wage runs in accordance with the provisions of Article 26 PP 51/2023.

Previously, the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah had instructed governors in all provinces to determine and announce the increase in the 2024 UMP no later than November 21, 2023.

"The governor is required to set the UMP no later than November 21, 2023. As for the Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK), the deadline is November 30, 2023," said Ida Fauziyah in a statement in Jakarta, on Monday (11/13/11/2023).
