Fighting For A Bed, Passengers Of The KM AWU Ship Fight Up To 2 People Died

WEST KOTAWARINGIN - Allegedly for fighting over beds, a number of passengers on the KM AWU ship on the Surabaya-Pangkalan Bun route, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan), got into a fight and got into a fight on the boat on Wednesday, November 15 night.

In the incident, two people were declared dead, and three others were injured as a result of being hit by sharp weapons. It is suspected that the incident was triggered by fighting over beds on the ship.

The two people who died were the perpetrators and victims who were previously involved in a fight. One of them was stabbed by the perpetrator using a sharp weapon.

Meanwhile, for the three injured victims, two of them were women and one male.

From the video footage circulating, the perpetrators of the stabbing were dragged by other passengers after being beaten by the mob for committing murder on the ship.

After the incident, the dead and injured were evacuated by the Basarnas Team to the Imanuddin Pangkalan Bun Hospital, after the ship managed to dock at Kumai Port, West Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan.

The Head of Ops for the West Kotawaringin Police, AKP Rendra Aditya Dhani, said that his party was still digging up information regarding the causes and motives of fights and killings between passengers.

"The information we got in the field, two people died, one of whom was the perpetrator, and several others were injured. Currently the case is still under development, the Inafis Team has conducted a crime scene investigation and collected evidence related to the incident. After all the evidence has been collected, a release will be held," said Rendra, Thursday, November 16.

AKP Rendra Aditya Dhani also said that his party received a report regarding this incident at around 16.15 WIB, when the ship entered the Muara Kumai River.

"For the injured victims, three people are still being treated in the emergency room. We are also recording the identity of the victim and looking for the facts what really happened," he concluded.
