Secretary General Of PKS Calls Netrality A Challenge For The Police In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR from the PKS faction, Aboe Bakar Alhabsy, said neutrality was a challenge for the National Police in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

Aboe warned that neutrality is important for the Police. Because he said, the Bhayangkara Corps has a lot of authority whose members can come into direct contact with the community.

"I provide a note that the most important aspect for the Police is to maintain neutrality," said Aboe Bakar at the DPR Commission III Working Meeting, Wednesday, November 15.

According to Aboe, it is not impossible, there are many parties who want to make the Police a'security' for elections.

"(Because) visas are so many parties are tempted to use the Police as a tool to support their victory," continued the PKS Secretary General.

Aboe said that the National Police as a government institution is not easy to maintain neutrality. Therefore, according to him, being neutral for the Police in the 2024 election is an absolute thing that must be done, as well as a challenge.

"Don't let any members look right and look left. I think this will be a challenge for the Police in the general election," he said.
