JAKARTA - Former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman was reported to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Wednesday, November 15. The report was carried out by the Indonesian Democratic Advocates Association (PADI) on suspicion of nepotism related to the decision on the presidential and vice presidential age requirements that smoothed the steps of his nephew, Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election. "Today I went to the KPK to report the alleged nepotism committed by Anwar Usman as the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court or the former assembly in case 90," said PADI representative Charles Situmorang to reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 15. The report, continued Charles, was conveyed because Anwar was proven to have violated ethics based on the decision of the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK). "One of them is a conflict of interest," he said. Furthermore, Charles said PADI brought a number of evidences. Among them are the Constitutional Court's decision and the decision regarding the age requirements for the vice presidential candidate. He hopes that the anti-corruption commission can move. This is because Law Number 28 of Article 22 of 1999 states that there are penalties for state administrators who practice corruption, collusion, and nepotism. "So every state administrator who commits an unlawful act or by unlawfully benefiting relatives or family members and harming the interests of the nation and state is threatened with a sentence of at least two years and a maximum of 12 years," he said. It is known, this is not Anwar Usman's first report at the KPK. The Indonesian Democratic Defenders Team (TPDI) has also reported President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) brother-in-law.

TPDI not only reported Anwar but also President Jokowi and his two children, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity (PSI) party Kaesang Pangarep. This report has been followed up by clarifying and reporting being asked to bring additional evidence.
