President Jokowi Discusses Gaza In Riyadh Before Meeting Joe Biden

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo will discuss the Israeli attack on Gaza, Palestine while attending the High-Level Conference of Islamic Cooperation Organizations (OIC Summit) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Sunday (12/11), before meeting US President JoeBiden.

"Yes, that's right, the President is planned to attend the Extraordinary OIC Summit to discuss Gaza," said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 8.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia stated in a statement Tuesday (7/11) that the Arabian summit will be held in Riyadh on Saturday (11/11), as well as the leaders of the OIC will meet on Sunday (12/11).

The OKI meeting will be attended by Jokowi before he is scheduled to meet US President Joe Biden at the White House, Washington DC, United States the next day, Monday (13/11).

Ari Dwipayana also confirmed the plan for Jokowi's meeting with Biden. According to Ari, President Widodo went to the US at President Biden's invitation.

"Yes, indeed President Joe Biden invited President Jokowi to visit Washington DC, November 13, 2023. This invitation was submitted a few months ago," said Ari.

Ari did not explain the points that Jokowi would emphasize at the OKI Summit later, nor the things President Widodo and Joe Biden will discuss in Washington.

According to him, the official statement will be delivered by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.
