PEKALONGAN - The police revealed a case of severe maltreatment until the victim died at the Hoegeng Kraton Stadium, Pekalongan, Central Java.

Pekalongan Police Chief, AKBP Mochammad Irwan Susanto, said the suspect with the initials SBR had fled to Bojonegoro, East Java, after assaulting the victim.

"The persecution case took place on November 7, 2020 and the suspect fled to East Java before being arrested by the police in Bojonegoro," he said as quoted by Antara, Friday, February 12.

The suspect is currently being held at the Pekalongan Police for further investigation.

"The suspect will be subject to Article 351, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code concerning Serious Torture which results in other people dying with the threat of a sentence of 7 years in prison," he said.

Meanwhile, the SBR suspect said that he had mistreated the victim with his bare hands.

"Initially, the victim and I made fun of each other through social media and then we agreed to meet at the Hoegeng Kraton Stadium to fight one on one witnessed by a number of his friends," he said.

As a result of seeing the victim suffered severe injuries to his body, he said, he fled.

"Actually, the victim and I worked in a 'leasing' company as a collector. After the duel, I got information from a friend, the victim died," he said.
