DPRD Asks The City Government Of Surabaya To Provide Stimulant Funds For Independent Isolation Residents Due To COVID-19

SURABAYA - Commission B for the Economic Affairs of the Surabaya DPRD asked the local city government to provide stimulant funds for residents who are undergoing independent isolation due to positive COVID-19.

Deputy Chairman of Commission B of the Surabaya DPRD, Anas Karno, said that during the implementation of this micro-based Community Activity Restriction (PPKM), his party asked the Surabaya City Government to pay more attention to the condition of the community.

"One of the ways is to create a legal umbrella so that stimulant funds for residents who are independently isolated can be provided," he said as quoted by Antara, Friday, February 12.

According to him, the provision of stimulant funds is a form of support from the Surabaya City Government in meeting food needs for residents who undergo independent isolation.

"When someone is confirmed to be positive for COVID, that person cannot work because they have been rested for 14 days," he said.

Anas said the stimulant funds provided were different from Cash Social Assistance because this policy was intended for families infected with COVID-19.

According to Anas, when someone undergoing independent isolation does not get a stimulus fund, it causes the economy to not run completely.

"For example, if someone is selling, but because he is positive for COVID-19, the seller cannot sell," said Anas.

In addition to providing stimulant funds, he said, the Surabaya City Government must also monitor the implementation of micro PPKM in accordance with Ministry of Home Affairs Instruction Number 3 of 2021 to control COVID-19 in detail down to the upstream.
