Gibran Rakabuming Raka Becomes Vice President Prabowo, Marzuki Alie: Don't Close The Door To Democracy

The 15th chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Marzuki Alie, said that Jokowi's move to advance his eldest son as a candidate for vice president Prabowo Subianto was a natural thing as a parent. However, it becomes crowded due to political interests in the upcoming presidential election.

The man from Palembang admitted that he was not a supporter of Jokowi said he really understood what a Jokowi was thinking about his eldest son. And according to Marzuki, Jokowi's move will be the same as other parents, only in different ways.

"All parents who are in the same position, in fact do the same practice. This is crowded because of the political interests of the presidential election, and become massive because there is a force that collaborates to bring down Jokowi. I am not a supporter of Jokowi, but I understand very well and understand what a Jokowi thinks of his descendants, just like other parents. Only different methods," said Marzuki Alie to VOI through his written message, Saturday, November 4.

Marzuki, who has a son, tells the story of his son after completing his studies in Australia, made a small company but in the middle of the road it ran aground due to no preference whatsoever. However, Marzuki still feels happy because his son is interested in becoming a teacher at a private campus in Palembang.

"Maybe I was wrong for birth, the children didn't enjoy any luxury, came home from Australi, I gave a small company, logistics, which ended up going bankrupt because there was no frequency. Not to enter politics either. But because his father was the Chancellor, at this time, he was enjoying being a lecturer. That's all my happiness," said Marzuki Alie.

Returning to the question of Gibran, Marzuki appealed to all people in Indonesia not to close the door of democracy for their eldest son, Jokowi.

"If a group of people, who don't like it, gibran can't do business, they can't enter politics, meaning they are told to become unemployed, this means that we have closed the democratic space for Gibran. Also kill democracy," he said.
