BPK Member Achsanul Qosasi Becomes A New Suspect In The 4G BTS Project Case

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named Member III of the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), Achsanul Qosasi, as a suspect in the 4G BTS project case. The determination relates to the recipient of money worth Rp40 billion.

"After an intensive examination was carried out and it was linked to the legal equipment that we found before, the team concluded that there was sufficient evidence to determine the person concerned as a suspect," said the Director of Investigation at the Attorney General's Office, Kuntadi, to reporters, Friday, November 3.

In addition, Achsanul Qosasi was also immediately detained at the Selemba Detention Center for the South Jakarta State Prosecutor's Office. Detention is carried out to facilitate the process of further investigation.

"For the purposes of the investigation in question, we will detain him," said Kuntandi.

In this case, Achsanul Qosasi is suspected of under Article 12 B, Article 12 e and/or Article 5 paragraph (2) letter b in conjunction with Article 15 of the Corruption Crime Law and/or Article 5 paragraph 1 of the Law on the Crime of Money Laundering.

The receipt of money by Achsanul Qosasi was revealed based on the trial process for the alleged corruption case of BTS 4G Kominfo. This was revealed based on information from Windi Purnama when testifying for the defendants Johnny G. Plate, Anang Achmad Latif and Yohan Suryanto.

Windi said that she had given Rp40 billion to a person named Sadikin Rusli who was referred to as an intermediary or BPK representative.

Then, in the next trial, the name Achsanul Qosasi was again mentioned by Galumbang Menak Simanjuntak and Irwan Hermawan. It started when the prosecutor mentioned the existence of a short message application group Telegram containing witnesses with Galumbang and Anang Achmad Latif.

However, Irwan admitted that he did not remember it. Thus, the prosecutor read out the conversation in the group which discussed the figure of AQ called 'people' of the BPK.

"Now I don't remember it, at the time in the group, Anang said, 'it seems that you need to accept AQ from me', then your answer is 'not now, not now boss, stop first' you still remember the conversation?" asked the prosecutor.

"Don't remember," replied Irwan.

"Who do you mean by AQ at the BPK?" said the prosecutor.

"I never spoke," Irwan claimed.

Meanwhile, the defendant Galumbang mentioned the name Achsanul Qosasi when the prosecutor alluded to the contents of the conversation that had been questioned to Irwan Hermawan.

However, Galumbang admitted that he did not know about the conversation. Thus, the prosecutor shifted his question about the real figure of AQ.

"Do you know who AQ is referring to? Against AQ, AQ," asked the prosecutor.

"Yes, Mr. Achsanul," answered Galumbang.

"Achsanul who?" said the prosecutor.

"Qosasi," said Galumbang.

"Who is Achsanul Qosasi?" said the prosecutor.

"Members of the BPK, the prosecutor," said Galumbang.

However, when the prosecutor questioned whether there was a connection between Achsanul Qosasi and the 4G BTS project fund flow worth Rp40 billion which had led to the BPK, Galumbang admitted that he did not know about it.

"This was then for the sake of the Palapa Ring, who did you open the AQ. It turned out that it was also here at 4G BTS from his statement that the defendant Irwan, there was also a statement to the BPK which was entrusted to Sadikin. Do you know that this has something to do with AQ?" asked the prosecutor.

"I don't know," said Galumbang.
