Mayor Eri Cahyyyadi Will Take Strict Action If There Are ASN Rankingi Prostitution At Hotels

Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi reminded all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the local city government (Pemkot) not to be a protector or "backer" of hotels that are locations for prostitution.

"ASN dia bergerak sesuai dengan aturan perundang-undangan yang ditetapkan oleh negara dan menjalankan aturan itu," kata Wali Kota Eri di Balai Kota Surabaya dilansir ANTARA, Kamis, 2 November.

The warning is to ensure that the performance of the ASN Surabaya City Government runs according to the rules, so that it can be an example for the community, especially for officers of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) as enforcers of regional regulations.

"I convey that your Satpol PP friends are at the forefront, if the Satpol PP becomes backing, the problem will not be resolved," he said.

For this reason, he said, all ASN in the Surabaya City Government were asked to uphold honesty and firmness in taking action.

Mayor Eri stated that if an individual is found determined to be backing a prostitution hotel, the local city government immediately conducts an investigation and if proven, then severe sanctions are ready to be given.

"If until now there has been no finding, but if there is an immediate process I will process it, the sanctions will be issued immediately. If someone is backing, it will not be issued immediately," said Cak Eri, his nickname.

Cak Eri hopes that people throughout the city of Surabaya can immediately send a report if they find that ASN persons are still determined to violate the rules.

"For the future of our washing children, I don't want this city to be damaged. Help us protect this city," he said.

Previously, the Surabaya City Government had held a standby rally which was led directly by Mayor Eri Cahyadi, at the local city hall, Wednesday (1/11).

The apple was to ensure the readiness of officers from the Surabaya City Government in carrying out security to prevent disturbances in security and public order (kamtibmas) throughout the city.

The focus of the city government is to prevent prostitution in hotels, in addition to preventing young children from getting access to night entertainment venues.

Cak Eri instructed the joint officers from the city government to strengthen coordination with the police and the TNI to comb through every hotel location and night entertainment.
