Subangsih Foundation Loses IDR 2 Billion Due To School Building Fire

JAKARTA The fire that hit the kindergarten and elementary school buildings on Jalan Duren Bangka No.36, Pancoran, South Jakarta, the Subangsih Foundation suffered a loss of up to Rp. 2 billion. In this area, the fire devoured almost all buildings.

"The area burned was approximately 1,000 M2. The cause was an electrical short circuit," said Head of the Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Triyanto in his statement, Thursday morning, November 2.

Triyanto explained that the incident occurred on Wednesday night, November 1, at 22:45 WIB. The incident began with sparks in the multipurpose room of the Subangsi School, South Jakarta.

After being approached, it turned out that the fire was getting bigger. The school guard immediately reported the South Jakarta Damkar.

South Jakarta firefighters who received reports deployed 17 units and 70 personnel to speed up the fire extinguishing.

"Receive the report at 22.45 WIB. Cooling at 00.06 WIB. It was declared complete at 03.00 WIB," he said.

Triyanto ensured that in the incident there were no casualties. However, the loss reached billions of rupiah.

"The victim was nil. The loss was IDR 2 billion," he concluded.
