Mahfud MD Encourages Management Of Diaspora Potential To Enter RPJMN 2025-2029

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD encourages the management of potential Indonesian diaspora to be included in the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Draft (RPJMN).

Mahfud said that the RPJMN is the direction of national development within a five-year period whose effect will affect economic performance to the nation's competitiveness.

"The diaspora are abroad with its various interests to migrate have formed characteristics of potential diversity. The Indonesian diaspora supports the government's program to introduce investment to culinary to print superior Indonesian human resources," he said virtually at the national seminar "Road Map for the Development of Indonesian Diaspora Potential as input for RPJMN 2025-2029" in Bandung, Monday, October 30, confiscated by Antara.

Mahfud said that currently the government has encouraged the potential of diaspora, both with data collection, immigration facilitation, finance, and so on.

One of the media used, he said, was the issuance of Indonesian public cards abroad with a validity period of five to 10 years after meeting certain requirements.

"In addition, the second visa house has been launched for work given to foreigners and their families," he said.

However, Mahfud said various efforts to address issues of Indonesian society abroad, such as data collection on Indonesians abroad (MILN) that have not been integrated, published, and socialized of the MILN card function that has not been optimal.

Therefore, he said, there needs to be harmonization of regulations related to data collection and management of MILN.

"Various efforts to face challenges by initiating the 'road map' in this seminar are important as part of the 'grand design' of diaspora development," said Mahfud.
