JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) will immediately follow up on the misuse of public sidewalk facilities on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, to be precise across the Sudirman Citywalk, heading to the Karet Bivak TPU, Karet Tengsin Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta.

In this area, sidewalks are used as stalls selling by a number of satay taichan traders who are extortioned by thugs. The incident was also recorded by amateur cameras by residents and uploaded to viral on Instagram social media.

"We will check and follow up," said Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Arifin to VOI, Monday, October 30.

Arifin admitted that he had not received a report on the sidewalk in front of the Sudirman Citywalk which was used by thugs to be traded.

"Not yet, not yet (there has been no report). Thank you for the information that went viral, so that we can take steps forward," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the function of sidewalks at night had turned into commercial business areas that were misused by street vendors. Worse, traders are willing to pay a sum of money to thugs who control the sidewalk area to be able to sell.

As happened on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, precisely across from Citywalk Sudirman, Karet Tengsin Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta.

Traders feel cheated because they are being evicted by other extortion groups who have also received payment for the sidewalk rental. The commotion was also recorded by an amateur camera and uploaded to the Instagram account @kameraperstiwa.
