Fake Doctor Tricked Siri's Husband In Pangkep Sulsel For IDR 250 Million

PANGEP - A woman from Lamongan, East Java, was arrested by the Pangkep Police, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) in the city of Surabaya. The woman named Lailatul Qomariah (28) who claimed to be a doctor was arrested for allegedly deceiving her sir's husband, Syahrir (28) worth Rp. 250 million.

The fraud case occurred in 2022. At that time, Lailatul Qomariah and Syahrir who were residents of Bungoro District, Pangkep, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) became acquainted on social media.

The two then met in Surabaya. When he first met, the suspect admitted that he was a Malaysian citizen, not married, and worked as a doctor. To convince the victim, the suspect wore a doctor's suit and said he would be on duty at the hospital.

After getting acquainted for a long time, the victim and the suspect were married in a serial manner in Makassar City, which was attended by the family of the male side. However, the victim and the suspect lived separately after getting married. The victim lives in Pangkep Regency because he works in a private company, while the suspect returns to Surabaya.

"Between the victim and the suspect met on Instagram after meeting in Surabaya, they were familiar and agreed to get married," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pangkep Police, Ipda Ramadhan, Friday, October 27.

A few months later, the suspect sent ultrasound photos to the victim who stated that she was pregnant. The suspect asked the victim to transfer money gradually to a total of IDR 250 million.

Various reasons were used by the suspect to ask the victim for money, such as official needs at the hospital, identity management, birth, and car variations.

"The suspect asked to be sent money many times for various reasons. The nominal is also different, up to a total of Rp. 250 million," he explained.

Feeling strange, the victim flew to Surabaya to meet the suspect who had admitted to being pregnant and giving birth to twins. Apparently, it was revealed that the ultrasound photo and photos of the twins were taken by the suspect from the internet.

From this case revealed, the suspect turned out to be an Indonesian citizen. The suspect is also not a doctor but only a high school graduate and works as a housewife. Not only that, Lailatul Qomariah turned out to be married to a man who was working in Malaysia.

"It was revealed that the suspect deceived the victim," he said.

Lailatul Qomariah has now been secured at the Pangkep Police Headquarters along with evidence of a doctor's suit, nameplate, and shoes. The suspect is subject to Article 378 and Article 372 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of four years in prison.

Lailatul admitted his actions even though at first he had serious intentions to build a household with the victim.

"One and a half years he admitted to being a doctor. There was no specific motive, at first there was serious intention with the victim," he said.
