PDIP Secretary General Hasto Reminds People That Power Should Be Not The Ambition Of People Or Families

The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto reminded that Indonesia is a country that is moral and ethical. In addition, the dedication of power should be focused on the community, not for individuals or families.

This was conveyed by Hasto when welcoming Yenny Wahid who declared support for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, Friday, October 27.

Initially, Hasto mentioned that Yenny's joining in support of Ganjar-Mahfud could bring energy to positive movements. The son of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrachman Wahid or Gus Dur is believed to have reflected on his attitude before making decisions for the benefit of the people.

"This power must be dedicated to the people of the nation and state, not dedicated to the ambitions of individuals, let alone a family," said Hasto in his remarks at the Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta.

Hasto then conveyed greetings from the Chairperson of the PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri to Yenny Wahid. With Gus Durian's whole family today expressing a support of course we are very grateful. This is the energy of our movement," he said.

Hasto also said that the election of Ganjar-Mahfud as a presidential candidate (candidate) and a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) was not for the benefit of the party. Megawati said, as stated by Hasto, both of them were elected for the benefit of the people.

"He (Megawati, ed) told me that this is not in PDIP's interest, not in my interests, not in the interests of my family, so I answered all the expectations of the Indonesian people for a leader who has complete experience, who is honest, visionary but grounded," he said.

"Yang juga berasal dari kalangan kita semua dari kalangan rakyat biasa, dan itulah Pak Ganjar dan Pak Mahfud MD," sambung Hasto.

He also said that the choice of the two figures was not in an effort to perpetuate dynastic politics.

"That politics is driven by conscience but reminds us all that leaders must fight for the benefit of the people," he concluded.
