JAKARTA - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka submitted a letter of application for permission to President Joko Widodo, who is also his father, regarding his candidacy as a candidate for vice president.
Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana said Gibran sent the letter through the Ministry of State Secretariat, Tuesday, October 24.
"Today, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, the Ministry of State Secretariat has received a permit application letter from the Mayor of Surakarta, Mas Gibran Rakabuming Raka to the President of the Republic of Indonesia," Ari said as quoted by ANTARA.
Ari said Gibran sent a letter requesting permission to be nominated by political parties or coalitions of political parties as Vice President Candidates in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections.
