Bahlil Banks News Luhut Withdraws From Cabinet, His Condition Is Now Continuing To Improve

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia dismissed reports that the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, would resign from the cabinet. "No, I can't hear it," said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 24. Bahlil said Luhut's health condition continued to improve. He asked the public to continue praying so that Luhut could recover quickly and return to normal activities. "Alhamdulillah, Opung (Luhut) has improved. God willing, we pray that the recovery can return to normal activities," said Bahlil. Previously, Luhut through his personal Instagram account @luhut.pandjaitan last Tuesday explained that he was advised by doctors to rest for several days. Luhut's health condition suddenly weakened after attending an activity. "Suddenly I felt very tired. This fatigue was not what I used to feel after work," said Luhut. Luhut was then taken by his wife to a hospital in Jakarta for further preventive action. With such a health condition, Luhut was not allowed by a team of doctors for a few days to carry out his activities as usual. After receiving an offer from his colleague, Senior Minister of Singapore Teo Chee Hean and Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakhrisnan, Luhut decided to undergo the recovery stage in Singapore, as well as conduct a more comprehensive medical and evaluation examination.

President Joko Widodo has appointed SOE Minister Erick Thohir to carry out his daily duties as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Ad Interim to temporarily replace Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan who is sick. Jokowi also invited the public to pray for Luhut Pandjaitan to be given a speedy recovery.
