KPU Processes Application For PAW Cinta Mega At DKI DPRD

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta has received a letter of proposal for interim replacement (PAW) for DKI Jakarta DPRD member Cinta Mega from the PDIP faction.

This PAW proposal was conveyed by the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi. Now, the KPU is processing the naming of a replacement for Cinta Mega in the DKI DPRD.

"The KPU of DKI Jakarta Province has received a letter from the Chairman of the DPRD on October 19 regarding the Interim Substitution of DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD Members from the PDI-Perjuangan Faction in the name of Cinta Mega," said Head of the Technical Division for the Implementation of the DKI KPU Election, Dody Wijaya, to reporters, Tuesday, October 24.

Based on KPU Regulation Number 6 of 2019 concerning Interim Replacement of DPR/DPD Members, Provincial DPRD and Regency/City DPRD, the provincial KPU has verified the documents no later than 5 days after receiving the PAW application.

Therefore, the DKI KPU is still verifying documents in determining the names of candidates for DKI DPRD members in the 2019 Election who did not qualify for parliament to replace Cinta Mega.

"We are still verifying and clarifying the requirements for interim replacement," said Dody.

PDIP proposed the interim replacement (PAW) of Cinta Mega after officially dismissing her as a party cadre. Mega's love was dismissed from PDIP due to being caught playing a slot gambling game during a plenary meeting of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

Until now until PAW is officially carried out, Cinta Mega is still a member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the PDIP faction.

Cinta Mega was fired from PDIP on Monday, August 14 for playing a slot gambling game in a plenary meeting. Shortly after being fired, Cinta Mega has now joined as a cadre of the National Mandate Party (PAN) and became a legislator of the DKI DPRD in the 2024 Pilleg from her new party.
