Support Anies-Imin, Said Aqil Has The Opportunity To Be The Head Of The AMIN National Team

JAKARTA - Former PBNU Chairman KH Said Aqil Siroj supports the pair Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (Anies-Imin) or the so-called AMIN pair in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. With this support, Said Aqil has the opportunity to become chairman of the AMIN National Winning Team (Timnas).

Initially, Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid hoped that Said Aqil could become part of the AMIN national team. This is because Said Aqil is a figure chaired by the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).

"We hope that for example Kiai Aqil Sirad is in the official team of the AMIN pair. Because he has nothing to do with his position, he is indeed a figure who has been appointed and he has been giving direction to support to the AMIN pair," said Jazilul to reporters, Monday, October 23.

Nevertheless, Jazilul asked all parties to wait for the announcement of the AMIN national team formally regarding the possibility of Said Aqil joining the Anies-Imin winning team.

"We'll just have to wait for the formal. Later we will announce who the figures in NU and outside NU will both provide support to AMIN to enter the national team. God willing, Kiai Said will be on the list," said Jazilul.

Jazilul admitted that PKB had communicated with Said Aqil regarding the hope of joining the AMIN national team. The deputy chairman of the MPR admitted that he would be very happy if Said Aqil was willing to become chairman of the AMIN timses.

"There has been communication, there are already approaches. But of course it must be final, later in the final, after everything is arranged neatly," said Jazilul.

"I am happy personally, especially if Kiai Said becomes the Head of the Winning Team, he is very happy. To be in the position of the national team, he is still considering it," he added.
